The room is beautiful and recently refurbished. The food was wonderful and the staff so kind. The dog is elderly and the goodest dog ever. This is our second stay and we hope to come again.

Third time back to this place for food and drinks and never fails to impress. 6 of us in our party, starters were Black pudding, Battered mushrooms and Prawn cocktail...all outstanding. Mains...the infamous steak pie was fabulous and the fish trio in a crepe was simply stunning. Can't recommend this place enough....diet starts tomorrow!

Spotlessly clean, comfortable, well appointed room; efficient, friendly service; excellent dinner - particularly well cooked and presented. We would certainly stay again.

We had a fantastic 1 night stay here, the food, staff and location we’re amazing. I recommend the trip of fish in a crepe. The cooked breakfast was delicious. The surrounding views and walks are stunning. Staff are very friendly and attentive. The only setback for us was the mattress was way too firm and uncomfortable. Would highly recommend.

There aren't enough stars available to give for this establishment. The food and staff are beyond excellent. Its dog friendly and my Beagle can't wait to return.

Andy and his team were very welcoming, freindly, professional and nothing was too much trouble for them in making our 4 night stay with family sovery special. We had a very comfortable and well serviced room 1. The breakfast offers a buffet table with cereals, yoghurts and fresh fruit with additional options of porrige, prunes and grapefruit segments. The preserves are top notch. A full English is available which in all honesty was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for the team when offering choices. We had evening meals for 3 of our night from a very good and reasonably priced menu. Execellent fish and chips, with a steak pie that was second to none. Sunday lunch roasts were made exta special by the team supporting a birthday celebration in our party. Oh and not forgetting Bailey the chocolate labrador that watched over the coming and goings of guests in the bar. THANKYOU for an amazing 4 night stay kicking off my 70th birthday celebrations. Feel sure we will be back again

We had a quick one night stay and the quality was top notch. The room was spotless the only thing is it could do with a bit bit of freshen up ( textured walls and ceiling dates it a tad. Staff were super friendly and helpful.

We used to stay here years ago, we stayed recently and found it to be still excellent. We booked a dog friendly room, really good, the staff and owners were really friendly and helpful. The food was really good, breakfast exceptional. I don't often order steak when dinning out, as I have been disappointed so often, but I did and it was both exceptional quality and cooked exactly to my liking. Thanks to the Ellerby team, great stay.

Just back from having a late Sunday lunch at Ellerby whist staying at Runswick. We timed it badly between servings so the food was a bit delayed - but when the food arrived it definitely made up for it - and more! I visit N.Yorks alot, and know this coastline gives the best fish and chips … but these were some of the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. My wife had the roast pork dinner and absolutely loved it. The staff were wonderful and very friendly indeed - we will definitely be coming back, often! Brilliant. 🤩

This is a very nice pub. Staff are friendly and helpful. Food is very good. Have been several times this year and sat in the garden which is sheltered and captures the sun. Unfortunately, the thing that lets the pub down is the amount of dog poo in the garden. In the summer when we visited there were several lumps and last week there was even more, resulting from several days. I would not be happy if I stood in it, and I am sure the landlord would not like it walked into the bar. Please do a daily walk around and clean the dog poo.

Stopped here for lunch and were not disappointed. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Lovely atmosphere and the food was very good with a good choice available for everyone.

The staff are friendly.The food is hot,well presented always tasty and good portions.The rooms are clean and everything accounted for..Been going there manually when visiting whitby..amazed the high standards they keep.

Had the pleasure of staying here whilst working at the nearby quarry. The hotel is lovely, but more so the people who run it, honestly probably the best service I've ever had and was made to feel very welcome. Nothing was too much bother. I will definately be staying again on my next visit EDIT: I've since stayed here twice more, this is the best place I have stayed at ever in my life, the rooms are great, but the staff and the food are the best experience I have ever had, I will visit here as often as I can!
